A new study shows a higher price of the popular ED drug Viagra is associated with a lower incidence of Alzheimer’s disease, the researchers reported in theNew England Journal of Medicine.
The new study by researchers in the Australian Medical Research Council, which also was presented at the 18th Fall Conference on Alzheimer’s Research, also shows the link between the higher price of the drug and an increased risk of the disease.
In a study presented at the 18th Fall Conference, the team studied the effects of the drug on brain function in mice, finding a significant increase in brain size and cognitive impairment. They also found that the medication reduced memory in mice but not in humans.
“The findings from this study suggest that the higher price of Viagra is a potential cause for concern for many men, especially men with pre-existing conditions, who may not be able to afford their erectile dysfunction medications,” said Dr. Paul H. Hays, the study’s lead author. “We are concerned about the possible association between Viagra and higher costs for consumers, particularly in the context of the ongoing pandemic.”
The study was funded by the Australia-Canada Agency, the Health Research Authority and the Australian government.
“Given the high cost of Viagra in Australia and the ongoing pandemic, it is important to ensure that men who may be experiencing these symptoms are purchasing the medication from a reputable source,” Hays said.
“Our findings provide further support for the need to explore alternative options for individuals seeking to manage their erectile dysfunction symptoms and may help them navigate their treatment options,” he added. “These findings may provide additional motivation to further examine the potential association between Viagra and higher costs for consumers in the context of the ongoing pandemic.”
A study of the effects of the drug on brain function in mice, the researchers found that the medication reduced memory in mice but not in humans.
The study, which was funded by the Australian Government Research Council, looked at mice who received two doses of Viagra (25 mg and 50 mg) per day for two weeks.
They found that mice in the 50 mg group had a lower incidence of memory impairment compared to those in the 25 mg group. “These results were consistent with previous research showing that Viagra is more effective for the elderly population,” the study’s lead author, Dr. Emily Roberts, said in a news release.
“Overall, these results are consistent with other studies showing that sildenafil, a common and effective drug for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, is associated with an increase in cognitive impairment in individuals with pre-existing conditions. This could lead to further insights into how medications like Viagra can help individuals with cognitive impairment,” she added.
The study was conducted in Australia, and Hays said her research was funded by the Australian government. Her research was also funded by the Health Research Authority.
“We are committed to supporting and advancing the health and wellbeing of all people by providing a supportive environment where we can provide our healthcare providers with the highest quality of care,” she said.
“We are proud to be part of this great society where we can offer the highest quality of care to help people live their best life, with a safe and supportive environment,” Hays added.
The study by Hays and colleagues involved over 3,200 men who were taking a Pfizer Viagra to help with their erectile dysfunction. The men took two doses per day, each of 100 mg. They had a history of cardiovascular disease and were taking antidepressants, anti-anxiety drugs and antidepressants that were not prescribed to them. They were also taking a combination of antidepressants and a nitrate-based anti-depressant drug.

Viagra is the brand name for the drug sildenafil, a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). It works by increasing blood flow to the penis to help men get and keep an erection. Viagra is available in the UK in three strengths: 25mg, 50mg, and 100mg. The brand name for Viagra is sildenafil citrate, which is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. It works by relaxing the blood vessels in the penis, allowing blood to flow into the penis when a man is sexually stimulated.
Viagra works by increasing blood flow to the penis to help men get and keep an erection. The active ingredient in Viagra is sildenafil citrate, which is a PDE5 inhibitor. Sildenafil works by relaxing the blood vessels in the penis, allowing blood to flow into the penis when a man is sexually stimulated.
Viagra comes in 50mg doses. The standard strength is 25mg and the maximum daily dose is 100mg. Viagra also comes in 10mg, 25mg, 50mg, and 100mg strengths. Viagra works by inhibiting the action of an enzyme called PDE5. This enzyme is responsible for breaking down a chemical called cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), which is important for the relaxation of blood vessels in the penis.
This chemical relaxes blood vessels and increases blood flow to the penis. Increased blood flow causes an erection. Viagra is not a drug for men who cannot achieve an erection. It is a medication for men who have trouble getting or maintaining an erection.
Viagra is not for women or those who have certain medical conditions. However, it can be used for women who are or may be pregnant or may have.
